GuaranteedMX Podcast: Devils Lake MX Manager Trevor Cerny
It’s a very short list for new race teams in Canada. The expense, the travel, the time, the effort it takes to run a team is very hard which scares people away from giving it a shot. Enter Trevor Cerny who runs a track in Alberta called Devils Lake MX, as well is a former pro and present racer himself. His passion for racing is just like most when it gets a hold of you it’s hard to get rid of. His racing career was awesome and he has lots of memories, but as he got older he changed his view point on how to harness his passion for the sport. Last year the Devils Lake MX team was completely a privateer effort funded from his pockets. Did they ever blow the doors off some big teams that are business, and make a bunch of jaws drop in the pits with their results. His rider Josh Clark took 2nd in the MX2 championship last year on a bike and team that on paper shouldn’t have represented so well. Trevor chalks that up to having fun in the pits and having Josh who is a great racer. In 2014 they’re going bigger as a team, and looking for a #1 plate. When you listen to Trevor you can tell that this is the kind of guy you love to have in the sport. It’s all about fun at Devils Lake MX.
